In related news, all 5 of the privately owned weapons in San Francisco have been turned in. [:P]

I don't know how anyone could stay sane very long trying to fight CA gun control. I really feel for Mr. Paredes.

Heh, big mistake. Watch the crime sky rocket (even higher ^_^). Now that they're disarming regular people, they won't have defense against criminals WITH guns.

Also, isn't there an Amendment to keep and bear arms? Would this be against the Constitutional right of a citizen?

In the second amendment, I believe it says even the state cannot take firearms away. Not too sure though.

True

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass.

Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto"- gixser13

Almost true I guess, you could get through Cali. without much problem, hit Az. and there will be a different story.

I read something humorous about a month ago, don't know where. Went something like this: "In other news, Massachusett's supreme court yesterday ruled that homosexual marriages must be recognized by the state and given full benefits of a married couple. That same day, California, not to be outdone, banned heterosexual marriages." The whole site basically made fun of california and its laws. I'll see if I can't find it again.

I am fairly certain that "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" means that any outright ban of guns is unconstitutional.  However, this article mentions that Washington D.C. does have such a ban (and is the murder capital of the US as  well).  Not sure how that can work...

Yes, however, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
Meaning, it surpasses any law made.

Constitution > State Laws

Americans have the right to keep and bare arms, as outlined in the bill of rights.
