Suggestion: An "Introduction" area
« on: February 20, 2005, 06:38:01 PM »
I think we should have a specific area where new guys can introduce themselves.  It seems that the new guys that introduce themselves before making alot of posts get a respectful welcome.  It also prevents me from asking "who the hell is this guy?".

All thats needed is who they are, what brought them to airsoft, and any personal background info that relates to airsoft such as military/LE experience.  They don't need to breach PERSEC, but can have a chance to say "HI!  I'm new." without getting eaten alive by kids with forum rank.

What do you think?

I agree..Good Idea Sarge. Some forums have a PM auto sent to every new person who registers. Maybe we could do that and ask they just go to that forum section and post a little. Most will be curious when they get a PM within the first few mins there on a forum, and most likely read it and post. It would be nice instead of someone just posting on a game thread all of the sudden asking to go..

Sounds good to me to. Could even add into that PM something about standard posting practices, caution them about ressurecting old posts unless they're adding something useful to it, no mindless flaming, etc. Just a thought.
