It is really more or less a marksmans weapon.  I don't know that the M324 has internal upgrades and I hope to get .23 gram bbs.

hey everyone!
my name's Jeff, and I am rather new to the whole airsoft thing.
I'm an avid paintballer, but the sport is just so dang pricey. I kinda came to airsofting looking for a less expensive alternative to paintball. I'm pretty much a newbie in all aspects of the sport. (a lot different than paintballing) so im here to figure out a bit more about it.

Welcome! I don't want to scare you away, but I wouldn't call airsoft a cheap sport. It can be an expensive habit...I mean hobby/sport.

It's expensive. I just spent a grand in the last week, and it'll probably take another 2 grand to be exactly where I want to be.

But after that you pay for ammunition (dirt cheap), gas for travel (oil is your god), and any costs for the event you're participating in. Of course if your equipment needs repair then you have that cost too.

lol. well, its cheaper to play anyways...

I spend an average of 70 bucks to play for one day
(50 for paint, 20 for field fee/air)

plus, all the gear that I bought (you dont wanna know how much I spent there...)

it adds up to quite a bit.
at least I can buy bb's for a crapload less than I can paint. lol.

thx for the welcome!

Like others said airsoft is not "cheaper".  Yeah ammo is cheaper but you spend that money else where.  If your sole purpose is to do airsoft because you believe it is cheaper then you have been misguided. Airsoft is a completely different mindset than paintball. It is milsim, you work to complete objectives and not to shoot at as many people as you can.  A good day would be to complete your objectives without ever firing a single shot.  Keep this in mind when deciding if airsoft is for you or not.

Hey guys, name's Paul.  Been playing for a few years out here in northern and central California.   Being in California, I'll probably never play with any of you guys, but thought I'd say hi anyway.  You never know, I may get out to AZ, or see some of you guys if I attend some of the Lionclaws events someday.

I was referred here by Paul D Wog.  I had seen him post some of Ganef's work on Arnie's and had to buy some of it.

As much as I want to agree, I'm going to have to disagree in some spots.

Airsoft is cheaper. Take this for example, an avid paintballer who's been playing for years. All the cost of paint and CO2 is bound to be over the average price most airsofters spend on all of their equipment and gear.

Two, not everyone takes airsoft as serious as a lot of the players here on AA.

Three, a "GOOD" game consisting of not firing one round would be as boring as hell. I can guarantee you'll get plenty of action as your experience progresses.

1.) Everyone should be serious about airsoft, otherwise, its no different than playing paintball(which, to my experience, have never played, but I speak based on what I've seen).

2.) You've never been to a big op. You don't know shit. I've gone on patrols at big ops(the two I've been to), and went virtually the entire day without firing a shot. You also don't always wanna fight an enemy. Sometimes the best way to survive is to not engage, and get out of the enemy AO as soon as possible.

Call me whatever you want, but that sounds extremely boring.

Personally, I am happy at the level I'm at with airsoft. If it gets "TOO" (emphasis on too) serious, it just gets lame.

Paintball is fun. I'm not gonna lie. It's a faster adrenaline rush.

hey my name is Andrew Sharman. for some reason i didnt post anything here in the past sorry about that. First off yes I was really in the Marine Corps, I got out in October 05. My MOS (military occupational specialty) is in the 06 field (comm) I have first and formost 0311 (rifleman), 0651 data systems specialist, 0653 Defense Messaging Systems, and 0653 tactical data systems specialist. I had the pleasure of being attached to 1st battalion 8th Marines (infantry unit), untill i was injured in training and put on non deployable status. So while i was going through medical treatment they sent me back to MCAGCC 29 palms (Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center) to be an instructor at the Marine Corps Communicatioin Electronics School (MCCES). I was NCOIC (non-commissioned officer in charge) of the security clearance section for Bravo Co. MCCES. Now im just a bum civillian, if anyone has any questions about the military or the Corps feel free to ask, having been an instructor i can answer pretty much anything you'd like to know. well thats about it.
