USP problems help!
« on: March 26, 2005, 08:35:07 PM »
Ok so i was running a few rounds through my USP today. and it started to make a rattling sound, I though nothing of it until 4 shots later it stayed cocked in a 3/4 cocked position. So i figured maybe a bb's miss feed, I tilted it downword to clear the BB and notice the brass inner barrel is sticking out the front. Me not being an "Expert" had no clue what to do so i went inside and take the slide off. Like one would do for normal cleaning a lubing (This is not the first time I have done this). So I try and find out how to fix it, but have no clue how to go about doing it. Then i happen to relize the trigger pull is extremely hard. And the safe catch isnt work(the safety level just spins around). Thanks in advance to anyone can help. If worst come to worst I'll just have to make a trip to JT on tuesday. Here are some pictues, Thanks again.

                                     Ethan,

Uh, I don't know what you expect us to say without actually seeing the gun.. I can't do anything from here, but it sounds like it's something that could be fixed with a new part or two, and why the hell is there an extra 3inches of inner barrel sticking out of your gun? And bent barrel?!

First post... Finally am going to get on the forums...

ethan, I use to have a usp like yours. I had a problem similar to the one your explaining. I never got a chance to get it fixed and instead just sold it to someone who liked fixing guns. He  ended up getting it fixed. Im not sure how or what he did, I think he may have had to buy some new parts. But still not sure. Ill try and get a hold of him and ask him what he did.

Your problem is probably that the slide lock got broken and doesnt keep the chamber from moving freely. Try pulling the slide lock out, if it's broken, look around for spares. Is it KJW or KSC?

#1 you need to get to the root of the problem by taking apart that bad boy. Once it is apart then you can diagnose what exacly the problem is. There could be any number of things wrong with it, from a mounting part broken to a simple set screw being loose. Have you taken it apart? do you want to? it seems like an easy fix if you can get to the start of the problem. I have a USP but can't remember how exactly it went when I took it apart last. I will have to crack it open and see what parts could have failed.
