Hey, I know you!
« on: May 22, 2005, 07:24:03 PM »
So I was thinking about the fact that I only know about 4-5 peoples names despite being at 3-4 games now and how confising it is to keep track of both names, and screen names.

My first thought was that people's BDUs should have a name tape with their screen name on it.

On second thought, maybe just before the first round at each game we could do a quick round of introductions with everyone telling their name or screen name or both. Thoughts?

Don't talk, just listen, and you'll figure it out.

Having a pic on you on your Avatar always helps.

Yeah that too....Not just a random picture. I usually get alot of " are you busta" 's at games where there are some "new" people to me... If you don't know who someone is, don't be afraid to ask what their handle is, and their real name.

More people know me as Andy than as 'Snap" probably because me screen name is my name, but still I ask people every once in a while "who the hell are you again???"

Well, I made an avatar from Tiger's pic of me on Saturday...why is mine all small, and you guys have bigger ones? Does the avatar size go up as you reach higher posting ranks?

There is a width limit, but No height limit AFAIK, therefore we have longer avatars.

it also has to do with the way you cropped your picture as to how it tries to keep it in proportion.

I'm not getting "azsarge" nametapes.

If you don't know someone, introduce yourself at a game.  We usually make it a point to welcome new faces, at least we used to at Monthly AA games.

There were alot of new people  there, Jeff.  That may be why you didn't recognize everyone.

edit:  That, and because alot of people think my name is pronounced as "Arizona Sarge".

Most new people know who I am at games based upon what they've gathered on the forums, anyway.

I like the way your avatar distorts the size of your 'fro and makes it looks so big....   no...wait a second...never mind.

Aww...That would go good with your signature combat ready earplugs!   :)

It will probally take several games to put names with faces.  Not to long for the regulars as you will see them more often at games.  But it will take longer to put names and faces together for those chairsofters!

Hey, there's no need to be jealous, man. I just wake up and pow, it's already  ready to go. It's getting sheared off on Thursday though, can't really wear a shemagh too well if it's all bushy at the top.

"Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB."

There is a height limit, but the forum allows taller images (and bigger images for that matter).
