I know the helmet cover had no plans. But do you use plans? Or do you just start makin' from an idea?

I took an old helmet cover and used the same basic principles it had, and with a bit of chalk on the helmet and some paper I had my own pattern. The elastic sinching idea I got from Crye Precision's MITCH cover and I just adapted the same idea to my design. As for the pockets, they were pretty easy to do without a pattern.

I wouldn't want your "old one" either.  I just can't see how you think that would be comfortable to wear!  I mean, is it edged in cordura?  That stuff chaffs against bare skin!
