New problems with my CA M15A4
« on: December 10, 2005, 06:17:58 PM »
Had my wiring harness replaced, and now I have no semi-auto function; the semi just spits out full auto. If anyone has any ideas....

It is an SRC wiring harness (looks identical to the Tokyo Marui one). I had to get mine replaced after screwing it up (again, this will be the second time I've had it replaced.....). Reassembly of the receiver has a bad tendency of pinching the wire in between the top and bottom receivers, stripping the wire and exposing strands. This only happens because I'm not familiar with how the receivers go together. I think I've got that part figured out now.

Another problem I ran into.... when I pull the trigger there is like a point of resistance about halfway back and I can push past to get a full trigger press; however, when I do that it does not fire. I have to pull the trigger only about halfway to get it to fire.

All help, as usual, is more than welcome!

So I figured out what the problem is, and I am clueless on how to fix it.

Apparently my trigger has a little lip that advances this piece of plastic along a track to connect the circuit and engage the motor. The lip is slipping under the little plastic piece at a full trigger pull, therefore releasing the little piece of plastic, causing the circuit to disengage.

Anyone ever encounter this?

the problem probably lies in that 'little piece of plastic' (believe thats the selector plate), as the triggers on CA's are all metal, thus, are less likely to break. so ya, the selector plate is where i put my $.

Hrmmm good point. My selector switch does not function fully. I have safe, and oh-crap-full-auto on two settings...so the two are likely related like you said.

I guess this means the new SRC wiring harness I had installed isn't quite compatible with my CA gun.

Yay for the new selector plate.

Anyone have any recommended non-CA wiring harnesses for this beast? The CA harness' wires are too thick and cause me no ends of issues re-assembling the gun (including stripping bits of insulator off, causing shorts, which is why I went to the SRC harness).

Get a Systema low resistance wire harness, the wires are nice and pliable, so you should have no problem reassembling.

the SRC wire harness does work, I have one in my CA and a few other CAs I did work on. But I guess nothing is always 100% for everyone.
