Attaching a lanyard to a full metal 1911.
« on: December 30, 2005, 01:15:05 PM »
If anyone knows how to do this, it would be much appreciated. I dont see any way to attach it other than drilling a hole in the thing but i don't want to do that for fear of breaking my gun.

It's a KJW para style full metal Gas Blowback.

Yes, tape would work... but if there is another way to do it i would rather do that.

You need a mainspring housing with a lanyard point on the bottom.

Unless you plan on going Maritime, you don't need a lanyard on your GBB.  Just get a good holster.

I thought the WE hi-capa had a hole for a lanyard?

And in case you're wondering how I could have one and not know: It's 2AM, I'm at a lan party, and I haven't gotten to actually use it yet. ;)

Nobody said it was, the HI CAPA (and the HI CAPA DOESN'T have a lanyard hole).  Your on your own.

I'm not entirely certain about this, but many real 1911 parts will fit on KJW/WA 1911s.  There is a good in depth discussion about this on airsoftplayers.com.

If I recall, the mainspring housing is one of the things that can be changed out with some modification, so you could buy a real one and make it work.

Alternatively, you could drill a hole (a la Glock) and run a lanyard through it.
