My new weapon, Dragunov SVD
« on: February 12, 2006, 11:23:31 PM »
Getting it from Evike, here's the link

http://www.evike.com/Merchant2/merchant ... EWARRIVALS

This thing requires no gas, no batteries, real wood and metal. Anyone know about the gun?

Hope to have it before the 25th game.

Good job, I had a CO2 version awhile back but never used it in a game.

I would prefer the spring, personally over the gas.  Main reason is becuase, eventually, you'll run out of gas.  I'm sure the spring and gas versions are almost identical in muzzle velocity... but the consistency of a spring is what i see to be more of an advantage.  Plus, less parts to worry about breaking...

Looks awsome man! Looks like I am not the only one getting an SVD.

I dont know a whole lot about the KM SVD, but I did hear that it was a bolt action rifle, which IMO isnt exactly what I would look for in an airsoft SVD.

I have also heard the scope is a cheap knock off of a real PSOP scope.
Here is a link to a review found on Unconventional Airsoft. The Review seemed to have been deleted but is has been reconstructed but with none of the great images it had before.

--> http://www.unconventional-airsoft.com/information/atozsvd.php

They call it the atoz svd in some places, but it is the KM SVD alright.

Upgrade potential looks a bit slim, but if your happy with that FPS (still able to outdo AEGs) there is no need to upgrade.

Airsoft SVDs are a bit rare in the airsoft world, and comming by one would mean you would have to drop some major cash into it.

I plan on using the Guarder SVD kit with a TM AK47. After dropping around $300+ of upgraded internals into it to make it able to hold an m160, along with a 6.03 inner barrel, this baby will be able to shoot 500fps on semi. PSOP scope and side mount and a relief pad will finish it off.

Sure it wont look like a real SVD, it still has an AK-47 body and mag. But with already a dozen mods to this rifle found all over the face of this world, I could just say this is a new one.

With it being a spring rifle and all, coupled with the already good hop-up unit, it should turn out to be a pretty decent rifle. (And it better be after the $600+ it will cost)

Good luck with the rifle, I hope to be able to take a look at it in the future.
Aint dem Dragunovs pertty?

I wasn't planning on converting my AK into a Dragunov, but I plan on making it into a sniper rifle... but the same size as AK with full-auto ability... but not as strong as a, let's say Dragunov SVD... shooting at close to 500 fps.  It will be around the 350-400 fps range when im done, and will be accurate as hell... and with it's size, would make a great assault/sniper rifle.

I just thought that would be cool, and would satisfy my wants in a rifle.  Of course side rail system too for a flashlight or laser....  :D

Yeah, I am actually thinking of changing the selector switch so I only shoot semi-auto. There is no way I am going full auto on anyone with that. That AND it would be an AEG, thus breaking the FPS limit for an AEG.

I am just going above and beyond, your AK would be a great Anti-sniper type weapon. Like the VSS. That would be a great conversion.

I don't plan on changing much to this rifle. It's coming with a bipod, and I won't know till I get it next week how sturdy/serviceible it'll be.

I have a RWS air rifle, and enjoy it. A single shot spring rifle will be an old friend to me.

One shot at a time from a hidden position, pick 'em off one by one.. At the ranges involved, a simple scope will do just fine.
