I had this gun for awhile.

Stock its already shooting 460. Mine was chronoed with Systema .2s at 462fps and it should already have a .04 TB pre-installed. All you have to do is clean out the hopup(Well is notorious for grease in the hopups) and you should be fine.

Acoording to airsoft extreme an M-150 would only put me at 460 FPS with .20s,
http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=443_465_467&products_id=1396 and the Well version of the L96 is just like the UTG, crap stock but with a new trigger, cylinder and spring guide I should be fine. But thanks -MAD-SARGE for the heads up on the AA FPS limit violation, saved me from wasting my money on upgrading a gun I wouldn't even be able to use.

As for a tightbore I still need some ideas, anyone have some imput?

Thanks for your time,

Rogue.

I just read your response today and I apologize. I had looked at the wrong gun.  For a sniper rifle that is permanently semi auto or bolt action, the max is 500fps with .20gram bbs and with a minimum engagement distance of 50ft.  In short you can try it and see how your gun holds up and what fps you get, but if you bring it to a game it must meet the rules.  I don't know what your gun currently shoots but I wouldn't spend the time and money chasing 20-30fps in order to achieve an fps closer to 500fps.

yea so i purchased a madbull ver. 2 tight boar and it seems to be way to thin for my hop up unit on my Echo 1 M4, how do i get it to sit snug like the stock barrel.  Second i also purchased a ECHO1 SPR MK12 Mod 1 for M16/M4, cause its was the cheapest way to get an IRS and to extend my length a bit.  Anyways i have no idea how to install it really, does anyone have an idea, i didn't come with instructions nor could i find them online.  So far i seem pretty close by guessing, but the outer barrel kinda just flops around too much.  I know its supposed to be free float but i know they don't move around like this does.

I hope you are remembering to put the hopup bucking (little rubber sleeve) on the barrel before installing it in the hopup. I notice no difference in outer diameter between madbull and other barrels.

Here is a guide I made a long time ago for the G&P spr kit, it should assemble the same.

Ganef you are my hero thank you, i couldn't find it on the forum when i searched it, i guess i wasn't using broad enough keywords.  Dumb me.  As for the barrel, i feel like an idiot i got so rapped up in it i overlooked that when i went to install the sob.  Thanks a million.  when i say it was thinner it just have been due to the material since its lighter and all, it prolly just seemed that way to me.

I don't know your level of mechanical competency. I have never done it but don't think it would be hard but my ASVAB scores were probly much higher than yours.

haha, I guessed on the asvab...I will prolly just take it up to gearbox, save myself the hassle and give them some buisness at the same time.

I recently bought a DE UMP from airsoft GI and its really loud, sounds like the gears are not shimmed right, fires ok, but not great. I have never opened a gearbox before, and wanted to reshim, relube, and replace the nylon bushings with metal ones, as well as  put in an M110 and a metal spring guide, any input on if that would lessen the loud, almost scraping noise when I fire? I live in tucson, but I might be in phoenix soon, how much would they charge at gearbox for all that to be done?

could be your motor placement, I dont have any experience with a UMP but from your description it could be a possiblitiy.

already ruled that out, messed with it for what seemed like an hour, the sound never changed except when it jammed the gears. put it back to where it was, still works.

That offers no help to him.

"T3hl33tn00b", the scraping sound you heat probably is scraping.  The best thing you can do is reshim it and clean out all of the metal shavings that are probably in your 'box.  I have never heard a DE UMP that sounds "good", but reshiming should help a bit.
