Barrel Drum VS Mags?
« on: April 04, 2006, 07:49:40 PM »
After looking into prices, I am curious what would be more viable? Grabbing a few high cap or normal mags or a big drum?

To me there is nothing more fun that performing a mag change while in a firefight. Hi-caps and drums steal this away.

Generally hi-caps are frowned upon here and drum mags are hated with a passion unless it is on a proper support weapon like a saw, rpk, ect.
Standard mags are very welcomed, and in my opinion are much much more reliable than a hi-cap.

I can tell you this much i bought Star 30 Rounders for my TM M733. Tho i occasionally had a feed problem I know i never want to use high-caps again that buzz when they start running low is enough to drive one insane. Plus standards make you a better player because your nor Spraying and Praying with reckless abandon you actually have to try to aim

They are SO loud!

I have all 30 round mags right now... I was going to make a mold and turn them into the 45 round style, but I'm too lazy.  I'm just getting a drum mag for the look.  I was thinking about puting a midcap in a realsteel drum mag, but I don't want to spend $100 for something I'm going to destroy.

Midcaps are nice, lowcaps give you realism, and hicaps sound like a lawnmower when the BBs run out and the spring spins.  You might as well get on a bullhorn and yell "I just ran out of ammo!  Barge in here and get me before I have time to wind it up again!"

Nice Sean......I really like that description.

I use standard TM M4 mags.  They feed very well.  I dont know anything about star mags though, however, they sould awesome for realism.

By Law Drum mags are only allowed on MP5s. REmember the drum mag must be 1/4 to 1/2 the over all length of the rifle it is on.
