I Have Gone full circle back to start.. My AEG venture
« on: May 12, 2006, 06:15:14 PM »
When I started with Airsoft I bought a TM M4. Not long after I installed a M120 spring and bushing 390fps, That AEG lasted me 18 months(20-21 games and 2 large OPs) :P After I finally cracked the gearbox(front half). I parted the rest out and built a few FULL custom AEGs. SR25 475fps  and CQBR 360fps mostly Classic Army parts. Both performed Good but not near what I wanted :? , I sold both off on eBay and bought an ICS( What a mistake) Poor performance from day 1. I thought a had a lemon so I picked up another used one, Still crappy performance, I had to spend a lot money just to make them shot 380s and they both seem to not shoot in Semi at times :x
I finally decided to just give up on the M4 platform and go after the M14s
Right when G&G released the M14 I bought Not one but two, One was the full size M14 and the other was the Soc16. Come to find out G&G is still learning when it comes to AEGs Both AEGs broke and Both broke the SAME parts, I upgraded Them once again and only noticed slight FPS increases. (G&G are very Temperament AEGs) Just ask anyone who owns one.
The Star M249 came out and I jump on the band Wagon, 10,000-12,000 rds without a problem, but I got tired of the BB showering  SOLD IT

Picked up a Airsoft Club M14, Well lets just say its a collector pieces and leave it at that :x
Next, I came across a Sopmod M14. Way too Heavy and will probably end up sitting next to my Airsoft club M14  can only get it to shoot 330FPS,  Unless one of you wants to buy it ;)
Frustrated I bought the TM M14, shot 280fps out of the box :? I threw in a M120 and bushing just like my first TM and now I am back at 398fps and consistent :P TM has the BEST AEGs in my book, Don't get me wrong I ave gotten other AEGs to shot 400s but I had to basically rebuilt the whole gearbox to do it

I will never stray from TM again!!

The only guns I have owned are TM and CA. By the way the old model CA guns just suck ie 1-230 at least.  The newer ones 5,400 to what ever they are up to now a days, are pretty good.  TM just needs to put metal bodies on their guns.

Dave when you bought that G&G M14, that was the same time Hector sold all of his G&G's

Well dave I have my EBR mauri M14 with all guarder internals, and works great. I saw that you got one too. I have been around the block to when it comes to AEG's. I however, am an all marui guy except for my M249P which I love. I have been lucky 99% of my guns were marui base guns, and have been  built fully from the ground up, bolth internaly and externaly.

1. My first gun was a TM AK-47 which I still have compleatly custom inside and out.
2. Second was a CA M15A4 full stock. I turned it into a SPC, and later sold down the road for the ring. Was not that bad but it was an earlyer version. They are even better now.
3. Third was a TM G36C that was FTK for high speed.  Thing shot like a dream. I sold it for because of praticality and need money for a ring.
4. Fourth TM  M4 commando. Converted it into a  M4SD custom. Still have works great.
5. TM AK-47Beta great stock gun. I sold this also to buy the ring.
6. Prime LR-300 custom was a TM base great gun sold it to also pay for a ring. I want to get another in the future.
7. Guarder full RPK TM AK base. This gun rocks the house, and I love it. constant 363-364 FPS w .25"s
8. Guarder AK74SU. Never should have gave up this gun. It was also made for high speed VS high FPS. Lost her in a trade due to my stupidity.
9. TM P90 T.R. stock. Sold it to buy the ring. I did not have this long. I was going to make it a project gun, and similar to Spazz's P90. I also just lost intrest because, it would just be another primary
10.  G3 SG1 TM Base love this long range beauty. Also compleatly custom inside and out.
11. G&G M14 Crazy horse custom. I got her in a trade for the AK74SU as well as other things. At first did not work. It then became a project gun in which I had to compleatly rebuilt internaly. Works great now and in the process of selling it.
12. CA M249P I love this gun its also the only CA I have. This not much custom simply because you dont need to. just the spring and rewiring to box mag
13.  TGS EBR M14 marui base. Works like a dream, and I want another TM M14 with a real wood stock.

Oh and dave I still need that pin, and glock sight. :)

My first gun was a Marui M16VN... I thought it was cool, but didn't know much about AEGs then.  One game, The sling mount snapped off the base, and the gun fell, literally 3 inches to the ground (shouldered while crouching if you can picture that).  Receiver cracked.  Got a metal body, upgraded the internals, cracked the gearbox.  More upgrades, after $1200 invested, Traded it 2.5-3 years later for a Kokusai M16a2 Carbine with a shitload of upgrades.

My second gun was a Marui AK-47S.  Once again, still new, thought it was amazing, but I wanted an RPK.  Thus the transformation began.  Now all I need is a buttplate and it's money.  Just gotta buff a few other things out and she'll be ready to roll again.  AK's my marui are solid, but not skirmish ready, IMO, without a metal body.

My 3rd gun, I bought from IcePlat.Sky, and was his Tanaka Kar98k... I love that gun.  I considered selling it, but after a few paychecks... I'm glad I still have it.

My 4th gun, was a VSR-10, if memory serves me right.  Upgraded it, and sold it for 80% more than what I paid in total.  Decent gun, just lacking in various places.

My 5th gun, was an ICS M4 I bought from Vince.  Great deal, because that gun was solid.  Never a problem until I put a marui motor in.  Put the ICS motor back in, and no problems.  I rebuilt the entire inside, of course, but that was because I was bored and had nothing better to do with my time... wow that was stupid haha.

Then I bought a G&G M14.  Great gun stock, not a single problem... until I took it apart, and couldn't get that damn anti reversal latch back in place.  I gave up, sent it over to AEX, who fined tuned it, and got it working very well.  Notice, I still have this gun for a reason.

Then out of a brief moment of insanity, I bought an ICS MP5.  Great gun, just not my style.  Sold it for a profit, but it did require some fine tuning to get optimal preformance.  After a reshim, it was much quieter, and much better rate of fire.

I bought a few more guns here and there, which I sold.  M1 Carbine...which was a real mistake.  And I cannot remember the other.

Then I got into classics, and couldn't be happier.  I'm much more thrilled with their performance over AEGs.

I first bought an MGC M725 from Darryl Zero on CA.net.  Great gun, amazing gun... But I thought they'd be like AEGs... no no... I took it apart, and fucked it up.  Been at The Mousehole for several months now... I should check on that.

(Kokusai M16a2 carbine picked up in trade)

Then I felt like spending more money, and bought a Sun Projects M16a1 carbine, and of course I couldn't leave it stock... It's been upgraded.

Then my impulses couldn't stop.  I bought two JAC M16A1's.  One their A1 Export version, and one being their VN ... step below LTD version.  DX?  Still has an ABS receiver, but is amazing.

Now, I thought I'd be somewhat intelligent and stop buying guns, but no... I bought a Digicon Mp5a5 off ebay.  No bids, and I thought ah what the hell.  And I won that too.

So that's my story.  I went back in time much farther haha.

gixser, is there anything actually wrong with the Sopmod M14, or is it just too heavy for you?  I may be interested. ;)

Its unlike any other AEG out there, The Sopmod weighs in at 15 lbs,My EBR in more like 12lbs. Right now the gearbox needs to be opened up and the trigger return spring need to fixed, Last game it went into full auto and didn't stop till the mag was empty

I have 6-7 mags with it and lots of extra parts

the way it sits I am asking 600.00 if I have to open the gearbox back up then 650ish
