Nick Tunnell, infinitydragon11 here on the forums and a brother in Team Saguaro's ranks is doing us all proud. He's joined the Marines (OORAH!) and is shipping out to basic on December 10th. To commemorate the event, Team Saguaro is hosting one last airsoft event for Nick on December 2nd, this Sunday at the Four Peaks AO.

Help Team Saguaro send off one of their finest and mark December 2nd on your calendars as THE DAY to bring out your A game and give our brother Nick an early start in SERE and Desert Warfare training. READ: If you think you've got game; bring the heat. Team Saguaro is looking forward to another great outing with AA's awesome forum members as always and the invitation is open to all.

Be aware we want to get in early on Sunday to enjoy the cool weather, so meet time will be at the usual Conoco gas station off of the 87 highway by 0630. We roll out no later than 0650 for the AO.

AEG's / CA Gear Reliability
« on: December 29, 2006, 08:22:30 PM »
For the stock gears on a CA ver. 2 gear box has anyone had problems with them breaking down after adding internal upgrades? I've got a CA Super High Speed Motor and Systema 120 spring added in to a stock CA Ver. 2 gearbox with a 9.6 Intellect Battery. With the stock motor and the 120 spring the 9.6 batt had the gearbox putting through about 23 rounds per second. Not too sure if the gears will be a problem with the CA upgraded motor.

Anyone know what chest sizes the Eagle Ballistic vests fit for their sizes?

I'm 5'4'' and 165. My chest is about 38.5 inches and I was wondering if a small or a medium would be a better fit? i'm looking at the black Law Enforcement Carrier on PracticalTactical.com

Real Firearms / KSVK or M108-A2
« on: October 13, 2006, 08:10:52 PM »
developed in the 90's the soviet KSVK from what I've heard seems to be the premiere anti-materiel long range sniper rifle. 12.7 mm round and bullpup design with a remarkably un-remarkable look and design I like the gun for what it is and what is capable of.

But that brings us to the Barrett M108-A2 which is the designation I believe for the successor to the fantastically popular widely renowned Barrett M-82A1 the (now) magazine fed sniper rifle. Formerly bolt action and bull pup configured, the A1 rifle packs a .50 caliber armor piercing, incendiary round and is most popularly known from such games as Rainbow Six and Battlefield 2 and events such as Desert Storm from the first Iraq War. The new M108-A2 from the little I've managed to find appears to have increased the barrel length from its predecessor as well as the weight and apparently originated as a championship sport rifle recently adopted for military use.

I don't presume to know much beyond that, and what I do know is mostly third hand and hearsay from various sources. If anyone would like to comment or correct anything feel free. Likewise, I was just wondering what stance those that respond to this topic would take on which weapon they find inherently more towards their tastes.

BTW, I'm looking at HIGH caliber anti-materiel (yes that's spelled with an "el") rifles and seeing as how the Druganov uses a 7.62 that is why it has not been included.

Introduce Yourself! / Looking for a team...
« on: October 05, 2006, 02:29:46 PM »
Hello,

My name is Ed Mirasol out of Glendale, AZ. I'm looking for a team that will have me. I'm 23, i've been in airsoft for about 6 months. Currently I own a CA M15A4 RIS with 4 standard magazines by CA and 5 midcap magazines by G&P and the standard CA AN/PEQ mock range finder battery box. No internal upgrades as of yet. Currently working with a red dot non-telescopic reflex sight, tactical light, three point sling and RIS foregrip. I have woodland and desert MARPAT, 3 tone desert camouflage and just received black solid color Tactical Response Uniform all by True Spec. I have a military issue Interceptor soft panel body armor vest with neckroll woodland so its not the MOST current model, about 2 years old (no plates, ceramic or otherwise unfortunately) and 8 tan MOLLE pouches for M4 magazines loaded on the front.

I also have a Kevlar PASGT military issue helmet with a 3 tone desert pattern cover. I have USMC gore-tex temperate climate boots in tan leather and TAC 5.11 black tactical boots. Hatch Operator SOG-L gloves in two tone Green/ Black and Hatch Blaclava in black round out my gear so far. I have on order ESS "Profile NVG" protective goggles, ARMY ACU desert combat boots, Camelback hydration pack probably in OD or Desert three tone. I have about 3800 rounds of .20g Excel BB's and 4400 .25g Excel BB's currently. I am available for practice on the weekends and am looking for a team that is definitively focused on utilizing military tactics during games with an emphasis on either authentic or replica gear from body armor to pouches and uniforms. (I'm not military though, either former or currently so this is not a request for a team that is utilizing rank insignia on patches since that is not my right as a civilian.) In general, I'm getting a little itchy to work with others who want to take airsoft gaming to the next level with a more serious perspective on the sport as a true MILitary SIMulation activity.
