Considering the fact I dressed up as a soldier walking around Iraq, I was thinking of just wearing normal people clothes this year.

Or, I might just find some way to scare the little kids and get free candy.

I agree with XavierMace. I've only owned one, and out of the box, it outshot most of the rifles on the field. Everyone I've talked to however, all agree that Tanaka is the better way to go.

Welcome.

Still surprised how many people are interrested in World War Two. Look forward to seeing you on the field one day.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: Mission Idea. Suggestions anyone?

Haven't had a chance to play Bad Company 2 yet.

And for the Red Dawn, similar, to everything out there about invasion of US. Just a different twist. Game play would be similar, I guess.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Mission Idea. Suggestions anyone?
« on: September 25, 2010, 03:46:41 AM »
This is a mission Idea based off a book I have been pecking away at since I arrived in Iraq. In ways it is like Call of Duty, but since there are so many unrealistic events about that war (I.E. How in heavens name do you get across the pond with a sizable enough force?), I do not claim any parallels.
This is all planning since I’m not in AZ long enough (or know far enough in advance) to plan anything good. If someone wants to take this and run with it, by all means do so. Feel free to post up other ideas, or PM me for the full mission brief.

Operation Giant Fall

Back Story:
July 11th, 2020. NORAD picks up a sizeable formation of unknown aircraft passing over the Bering Sea. Orders are passed down to Fort Richardson, Alaska to intercept and investigate. Reports flood back of bombers attacking Richardson, than all commutation is lost with the post.
July 12th, 2020. NORAD picks up two missile launches from the location surrounding Richardson. They plot the courses, and predict L.A. and New York will be hit. Instead, the missiles detonate 300 miles above the earth, causing an electrical blackout throughout all of Canada, as well as the United States and Mexico.
July 15th, 2020. Russian forces start an invasion of the United States. They are met with massive resistance, from both the U.S. Army, as well as private citizens. The Russians attack with tanks, air assets, and infantry.
July 30th, 2020. Russian forces have secured an area that covers from Montana to the Texas/Mexico Border. NATO nations start sending troops to assist the weakened U.S. Military.
August 10th, 2020. The Russians have captured the western United States, although it has cost them dearly. Special Operation groups arrive on the Eastern Seaboard. The Navy’s 7th fleet stations itself 500 miles off the West Coast.
August 13th, 2020. Present Day. The U.S. Army, with the aid of Germany, United Kingdom, and France, start a massive counter attack along the northern part of the Russian attack. If the attack is successful, the combined forces will be able to hold back the Russians long enough to land more forces, and reclaim the United States. If they fail, America will fall.

Teams:
United States Army- UN Task Force Iron Horse
Role: Combined U.S. Military forces, leading the assault.
Uniforms (preferred): ACU, MARPAT, ABU, Tiger Stripe
Weapons (preferred): M16, M4, M249, M14

Armed Forces of the Russian Federation- 17th Motorized Rifle Troops Battalion
Role: Spearhead for the Russian forces.
Uniforms (preferred): Multicam, Flat Green, Flat Tan
Weapons (preferred): AK47, AK74, G3, RPK, SVD (Even a few captured American weapons if needed)

Minutemen- Iowa National Guard
Role: American Citizens who own firearms, and want to stop the Invasion. This is a much smaller force than the USA or AFRF.
Uniforms (preferred): 3 color desert, 5 color desert, Civilian Clothes
Weapons (preferred): Any

Quick Mission Brief
The objectives of each team will be close to the same. Depending on game location, games will include a form of capture the flags, Team Deathmatch, Search and destroy, and a few other ideas. I’m planning on having a Chain of command installed as well so it is easier to direct and control the men to complete the mission.

General Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Should I enlist after High-School?

Take into consideration that there are 2 wars going on and the likely hood of you going over there SEVERAL times is a real possibility.

Great advise, however, the war in Iraq is turning down. There is a better chance of going to afganistan, and Iraq turns into a peace keeping operation. At least that is the reports I'm getting.

I myself enlisted 3 months outside of high school after signing up for the delayed entry program when I was 17, and never looked back. Same advise on what everyone said, never believe your recruiter, and ask around.

AEG's / Re: FPS Rules, Upgrades needed, overall help

Thanks for the tips guys.

As for the SR25, most of the ones I was looking at (with my limited internet time) all show that there is no front sight post. I'll keep looking into it.

AEG's / FPS Rules, Upgrades needed, overall help
« on: September 04, 2010, 03:50:38 AM »
Howdy guys,

I am trying to build a M110 Marksman Rifle like found in the military. Now, since this is airsoft, and everything is 6mm, the base of this project will be a M16A4.

My questions are, how do you make a full auto rifle into a semi auto only weapon? Also, what are the FPS Limits for semi auto only? And what internals would I need to build a reliable high FPS weapon?

Thank you in advance

John
